A reminder that we'll be meeting 630pm this sat (18/6) at city hall mrt station. place for dinner hasn't been confirmed yet though :D We'll decide again when we meet!

I dun think it's possible to have a reunion for the seniors in june if we want all to be present :(

If we are having it on either 11th or 12th or 13th of june, Matt wun be able to join us. If we have it on 14th of june, joel wun be able to make it. If we have it on 20th or 21st june, yiqi will be overseas. Liyan will be overseas from 26th june onwards, so like cmi sia.

So, i'm going to propose other dates in july and we see how again k?

HELLO!haha!ok, joel's POPing on 9th june, but he has a church camp on that sat(or is it fri?hmmmm,ask him again)so or reunion could be on the 11th or 12th,which is thurs or fri.Must ask Matt when he can book out, cos if he's in OCS not that easy bah,i think.haha.

We could go sentosa or some park(East coast, Pasir Ris, West Coast, Changi Beach).
Or we could go Jaime's house and play rock band.
Or we could have a bbq.

Haha, just throwing up random ideas :P

Okay guys since our juniors are not using this blog, we might as well use it for ourselves for updates and etc. So, according to what I heard from kj, he's pop-ing (cue: say POP! woohoo!) on June 10th? Haha, and Joel should be POP-ing soon. Matt has popped, so probably after June 10th we can have a gathering of some sort. Ideas? Ideas? Ideas? We have one month to plan our reunion. Exciting exciting exciting. (:

ok, so apparantly there hasn't been anyone blogging here liao.haha.i shall be the first in many many many months.Eliz here btw, and yes, i'm blogging while working.haha.

The syf was great, i mean despite the results, i'm sure we all do agree that the juniors did a damn good job. (yiqi, u wanna upload the sound recording or something?cos i think yr recording might sound better than mine, haha.) Wasted sia, no concert, if not can impress the sch with wat SAGE can do!haha!

Heard from a friend of mine that this year the judges were damn strict cos there are 2 guitar pros in their midst. Usually, the judges are only music pros, not so much of guitar pros, so yup, they tend to mark down.

Music is a very subjective thing. Some ppl love baroque type of music, others like modern. So perhaps the judges had a rather diff taste as compared to the rest of us bah. The only flaw that we seniors (correct me if i'm wrong) heard was the rushing of the running notes in the first piece.It was a little messy down there but otherwise, the first piece was very impressive and impactful.The second piece was much smoother.

So, to the juniors who are reading this: WHAT"S DONE IS DONE, JUST KNOW THAT YOU GUYS ARE GREAT!!!!!AND THE SENIORS LOVE YOU ALL! :D

Haha.. I find that ive been thinking about you people alot lately...
I've opened the scrapbook countless nos. of times and im not tired.
The times really aren't cherished until they're all gone...
And i returned to the ensemble blog once again cos' eliz says you can download the vid by 17 here hahah. And poof suddenly got alot of posts... so yea... cos my blog is locked up and i dunnoh if i sent invites to all, so i'll put that extract of my post here :)

I'm reallyyyy bad at saying goodbyes and all... but then again, this isn't exactly goodbye yet right?

Here goes:

I remember when i stepped into SA, i initially wanted to join guitar to learn and help with the morning worships @ sfc. LOL. So idealistic lar. Obviously none of that happened cos this is JC yo. Study study study.

So the happy me joined with like almost 50 other people in first intake... im sure you've heard this story once or twice. HAHA. and we like flooded the place.
Then cos Mr. Wan didn't exactly show people any mercy, so the numbers halved every week. Till like desmond myself and i think two other people remained... hahah. Then i left cos i got kinda ticked too... he actually gave us grades and all that lehh.... i just didn't like it at all then..
And where did i go? Recreational badminton. What a joke. Really regretted what i did cos it was really a waste of time. Sighs. On a side note, if desmond had stayed on he would have been the longest staying member... but probably with the worst attendence still. LOLS.

So it was not until i met yiqi and eliz in my JAE class and i remember during cca display i was discouraging them to go guitar due to the instructor.... hahaha. And Someone got irritated. Whoops... Yea. And the embarressing thing is i jumped back on the bandwagon in april cos i really couldn't take the badminton crap anymore... i just wanted to learn something new...

That was just the beginning another problem...first i felt as if i had missed out a lot cos' one month had already passed with SYF and camp... but when i went i found out there was three members... or four? I dunnoh... i only knew 17 and eliz, and during my first session, mr wan didn't make me play twinkle twinkle cos i sort of blended in with the rest...phew!

And i got to watch the entertaining performance by liyan and company... thanks to mr wan. Okok im just kidding : )

Yea so there was liyan and eliz and yiqi and jannah! and then i found out there was jaime. And then we found out that im the only guy and there's six of us and nth more.

I felt weird. I dunnoh but lots of the time i don't really find myself bonded as strongly to the others in guitar.... felt like my greatest struggles were not that of the work that we had to do, but more of trying to be part of the group of 6 (when i was the lone guy and mann i should really stop using that before i get slapped) and later the group of 8 (even when the guys came along).

Hahah it was the times when people spoke lotsa chinese or girls stuff that i shouldn't be hearing or the times at the guitar camp that i never went for or little things here and there. I must say sometimes i just felt lousy. And really. I wanted to quit badly. So i went on moping for quite a while, especially when the senior guys left. but hahah. Things change when time does its job, after slowly warming up and getting to know you people. My mind made a 180 degree turn!

Hey guys im not trying to say that you ostracised me or anything, but sometimes i guess i have the least things to add to our convos and im always along the sidelines... and a lot of the times i felt i couldn't click into your channels... so i ended up going all aloof many times. I'm sorry for all the times i used being tired as an excuse, though im not saying that there were no such instances of me being tired yea. Thats just me i guess... but im really thankful for you people cos you guys made guitar so much more than just a cca.

We shared the bitter and the sweet together all the way, whether it was planning for the camp or getting our performances together for CNY or open house or concert. Heh who could forget the retarddedd pavane (that i still don't pronounce correctly) that we practiced for almost a year! Or our first niibori piece from the beatles: Here comes the sun.. da-da da-da... yea! Keep in touch yes? :)

I need to agree with yiqi on one thing, and thats that in the end, you guys feel almost like family...its abit weird...cos i know you guys, yet i dunnoh you guys? 2 years really just ain't enough, but its enough to place a grin, no, a smile on my face. I realised that i realised this only during the days leading to farewell, when we handed over the reigns and went off to mug. I missed those guitar sessions where we'd get scolded together, or laugh at funny hand motions and mr wan... and many more things...

hello! this is Jai-me. i shall post what i posted on my on blog(as in what i want to tell you guys.) to save yall the trouble since im invited to blog here.

TO SAGE:

okay, im not very good at writing emo emo stuff(and when everytime its imperative for me to do so, i feel damn grossed out at my mushi-ness.) BUT! I think its necessary for me to tell u guys this:

JC was a foreign and shocking environment for me till I made some friends and made the Muslim food my favourite, but most importantly, JC was fun and enjoyable when i joined guitar, when i met you guys.

i knew i was going to join guitar before i came to JC because it is like the love of my life and i remember being very disappointed during the orientation because theres only eliz, yiqi and me present. with myself being the last person to leave. can u imagine?! one freaking person representing the juniors. it was sooo awkward and then after i wasnt hyped abt the CCA, so i didnt go for the camp either. and skipped a couple of official practices cos of House Council ah! Not cos i want to pon (not like Liyan, HAHA.) anyway, i remember during the first prac i went for, Mr Wan was sooooo fierce, (haha i rmbr Wilson trying to appease him) and he wanted everyone to play sth on the guitar, so i played "more than words". that wasnt the point. the point was, i wasnt all enthu as i thought i would be for guitar. i actually dreaded going for pracs.

Till i made friends with yall. as in Yiqi, Eliz, Joel, Liyan and Jannah as the group got smaller. (and smaller, and smaller, and smaller.)
I thought Yiqi, Eliz and Joel would be very un-fun AT FIRST IMPRESSION but after learnt that they were super talented and nice and damn hilarious.
I thought Liyan was Liyan without the "Y" but found out shes funny and nice and can speak Korean! Plays the guitar really well somemore. (she cracks me up with her habit of self-praising. Haha.)
I thought Jannah was quiet but then found out she can be really witty, and its damn funny when she gets all worked up when she sees the messy guitar room.

Then we got Des and Tim, Leonard and Eugene(but dont have to say much cos they were practically not there for guitar pracs. ANYWAY,)

Then Marc who came and go but was nice of him to sing for the concert.

Then KJ and Matt. HAHA. Guitar wouldnt be as funny or nonsensical without them.

Then we stayed at 8 people.

I remember my friends and Leonard would always laugh when i tell them theres only 8 ppl in the ensemble. and i remember laughing with them at some point cos it was funny, u have to admit. 8 ppl in an ENSEMBLE?! its a joke. but then time passed, we bonded, went through crap together, got stressed up, got worried, got angry, practiced in sch till damn late etc...and then slowly, i forgot the fact that SAGE had only 8 ppl.

Because in the period of time we served in SAGE, we've accomplished more than what 8 people could.

SAGE partly defined me as a person in JC, its like part of me. You guys are part of me.

I never thought much of SAGE before, i admit, i felt it was just a CCA, i almost wanted to quit cos of House Council. AND IM SO GLAD I DIDNT. because i would have missed out making friends with such great people, missed learning so much from the same great people and missed having fun and enjoying my time in JC.

I will miss you guys so much, it is like a template that people say when they part but i want you all to know that i really really mean it. (:

wah damn mushy ah. haha bye all (:

The SAJC Guitar Farewell 2008 organised by the 5th batch ended that night with smiles and photos. But memories will remain, and friendships forged will forever stay close to our hearts.

Dedicated to SAJC Guitarists 07/08 Batch(with lots of love).

The last post was in January.

This blog has been rather underused. Maybe, it has become a positive externality that you guys have underconsumed (haha). But today, you guys will correct this market failure by reading what i really want to tell you (besides what I said during farewell)

I tossed and turned in bed last night, after the day was over (it was 12.10am). So many thoughts ran through my mind. Happy thoughts, sweet memories, but there was even regret. Regret that I did not think about what i wanted to say seriously. I saw the video of my speech and it wasn't so great; I wanted to tell you guys so much so much. But yet all i said in my speech were those that were so surface. I wanted you guys to know how i felt deep inside. But you know, those thoughts and those words never did come to me. Only after Farewell was over.

It was the last speech I was going to say, but I didn't think of what i really wanted to say. What a horrid and emo thought. Haha.

So then I wanted to tell you guys this. You know, each and every one of you have made a difference in my jc life. Last year, I never did like SA much. It was guitar that brought a smile to my face every Wednesdays and Fridays. Guitar gave me something to think about. Something to explore my passion and (ahem)talent. We were only 8 people but I guess that is a blessing in disguise because if we were a larger group, we may not have become so close. Close in the sense that there is a close feeling(are you thinking 'Huh? What she talking?'?haha) What i mean is that although we don't know each other very very very well like, E.G i didn't know that Kaijie had a dog, or I don't know how many siblings Jannah have, but the point is that every time I see you guys in school, I have a very homely feeling. The feeling is like. I don't know how to explain it. Just saying 'hi' and maybe giving Matthew a poke just makes my day (hahaha). Remember what we said for last year's farewell to the seniors? It really is what i want to say.

"Thank you isn't good enough"
"But know that it will be okay, for friendship never changes"

So don't stop making my day, or my life would be incomplete.

Early this morning, I woke up to an empty house (My mum was out for yogaaa). The first thing I did was to take out the scrapbook and I flipped the pages with a smile on my face. (It's like magic huh, the scrapbook is like a smile-making machine!) I wanted to show my mum the book, but well. Later. And then I can feel happy again later, heh. I kept looking at the photo of the 8 of us. The one after concert that I was so excited about, remember? Haha. And it hasnt' grown any less nice. Because sometimes you keep looking at the photo, then you'll start to see like eh, this part not nice, etc. But the photo is PERFECT! Haha. Maybe it's just the people. The sweet, sweet memories.

To the juniors, farewell was really great. We really did enjoy it, so don't doubt your abilities or wonder if we did enjoy it, because we really did enjoy it.(See, a problem with me is that i talk in circles. Which explains why you have to read it to understand better.) And we really appreciate every little bit of thoughtfulness- from the pattaya rice to the scrapbooks. It was a wonderful night, complete with a spectacular sights of lightning, as well as a showcase of talents. Thankyou!

There. I've lessened my regrets and I guess the proper closure to my always wandering mind starts now. Study hard folks. For the love of our school's study culture! (:

Will hand this blog over to the jc1s soon, so... Don't know if they'll still use it, or rather, dont know if they'll use it MORE THAN WE DID, but well. heh.
